With regard to pressure from Russian authorities to the editor of the independent Moscow magazine «The New Times»

The International Committee of the protection of press freedom and journalists’ rights is concerned the continuing pressure from Russian authorities to the editor of the independent Moscow magazine «The New Times» in connection with the published there in February this year of inappropriate material status of the units of the Russian special police.

The International Committee of the protection of press freedom and journalists’ rights said that such pressure on the free press is clearly contrary to the oft-repeated by top management of Russia during foreign visits by the claim that the current Russia once and chose a democratic path.
