The harassment of journalists in Ukraine

The International Committee of Press Freedom and Rights of Journalists is concerned about harassment of journalists in the courthouse in the city of Kiev, which took place today in the case of the former Ukrainian prime minister and current opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

The International Committee of Press Freedom and the rights of journalists believe that the brutal use of force in the building of the said court against the journalists are there by members of the Ukrainian police, aiming to unlawful removal from the hall of the press shows the contempt the government of Ukraine elementary democratic principles.

The International Committee of Press Freedom and Rights of Journalists calls on the current Ukrainian administration to conduct a thorough investigation of this episode, the most rigorous way to punish those guilty of this the officials and no possibility of a recurrence of such incidents in future.
