About attacks on journalists in Kiev

International Committee for the Protection of press freedom and journalists’ rights very surprised by the fact the lack of visible progress in the investigation of numerous cases of Ukrainian authorities targeted attacks on journalists by police in central Kiev, November 30, 2013 and December 1, 2013. Despite the fact that the perpetrators are well known and do not hide from justice.

International Committee for the Protection of press freedom and journalists’ rights believes that pandering to said police terror against journalists, Ukrainian authorities openly demonstrate this world its extreme remoteness from the accepted norms of civilized behavior. In today’s world, only a very small number of totalitarian and dictatorial regimes that are among the world community in a special account, allow themselves to be as cynical as it is observed in the present case, the neglect of the rights of journalists.

International Committee for the Protection of press freedom and journalists’ rights requires that the Ukrainian authorities urgently to bring to justice all strict police officers involved in the organization and practice of the above-mentioned unprecedented in the civilized world of terror against journalists in Kiev.
