The Committee of Citizens of Ukraine categorically condemns today’s expulsion of Mikhail Saakashvili from Ukraine to the territory of Poland. This shameful and cowardly act of the incumbent President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko regarding the spiritual leader of the people’s resistance to the regime of total corruption in Ukraine once again during the current government discredited Ukraine in the eyes of the civilized world and again created her reputation as a wild, backward, medieval country in which the ruling regime feudal type actively and purposefully builds in the center of Europe the personal preserve of the corruption mafia Petro Poroshenko, grossly suppressing any hotbeds of political resistance detecting and dissent and completely ignoring all the principles of the rule of law.
The Committee of Citizens of Ukraine requires the acting authorities to return to Mikhail Saakashvili illegally confiscated from him Ukrainian citizenship, allow him to return to Ukraine and provide an unhindered opportunity for opposition (including anti-corruption) activities.
The Committee of Citizens of Ukraine requires the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to stop using violence and lawlessness in the political fight against opponents of the corruption mafia, which he personally heads at present in Ukraine.
The Committee of Citizens of Ukraine believes that today’s application of violent, bandit methods against Mikhail Saakashvili when he is being deported abroad by officers of the security forces controlled by the president clearly demonstrates to the whole world the complete inability of Petro Poroshenko to lead a modern Ukrainian state declaring the priority of European values.
