About civil confrontation

Committee of Ukrainian citizens expresses extreme concern over the tense political situation in our country to date. With the primary blame for this rests with us the current government led by President Viktor Yanukovych and the parliamentary majority of the deputies from the Party of Regions and the Communist Party, decisions and actions lately are mostly destabilizing, and in places provocative.

In particular, the Committee of Ukrainian citizens strongly condemns the actual cancellation of the majority in our country guaranteed by the Constitution and international agreements of civil rights, taken by 16 January 2014 parliamentary majority and immediately endorsed by President Viktor Yanukovych. Such steps soon in the international arena will inevitably lead Ukraine to political isolation, personal sanctions and indiscriminate economic collapse, and in no way will not help stabilize the political situation.

At the same time, the Committee of Ukrainian citizens currently calls opposition to exercise maximum possible restraint and condemns every kind of radical militants attack on employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, are serving to maintain public order and protect the organs of the central government in the capital of the state. Committee of Ukrainian citizens considers it highly probable that such extremist activity actually is inspired by the authorities to discredit them in the eyes of the international community shares a peaceful protest, has long been going on in the center of Kiev, to get an excuse for the violent crackdown.

Committee of Ukrainian citizens admits that now provoked by escalating political tensions in Ukraine a script territorial division of the country, compiled in the Kremlin, and calls on the opposition and all other patriotic forces of our society does not become an unwitting tool in this highly damaging to the integrity of our state game hostile Ukraine foreign forces.
