Committee of Ukrainian citizens concerned about numerous facts of government pressure on the opposition. For criminal cases against opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko and Yuriy Lutsenko recently added searches for companies of Arsen Avakov and Constantine Zhevago – prominent businessmen supporting the opposition.
Committee of citizens of Ukraine considers it inadmissible to use the courts and law enforcement agencies for political purposes and requires the authorities to immediately halt this authoritarian practice. The actions of the regime in this situation can make the only possible conclusion is that the current government set out to eradicate any means, the opposition in Ukraine, that has nothing to do with the publicly declared policy of strengthening democracy.
