The International Committee for the Defense of Freedom and Civil Society sees no other way to end Russian aggression against Ukraine other than forcing Russia to peace by force of arms and sanctions. The aggressor must be fully punished for its attack, without receiving any compensation. The victim should not be punished, and should be compensated for all damages caused by the war at the aggressor’s expense. These are all elementary requirements of logic and common sense.
Of course, there can be no talk of international recognition of the territories seized by Russia. Nor can there be any discussion of lifting sanctions until Russian troops have completely withdrawn from Ukrainian territory and Russia has fully compensated Ukraine for the damages it has caused.
The International Committee for the Defense of Freedom and Civil Society believes that the aggressor, not the victim, should be punished. Therefore, no restrictions on the size of the army or bans on the possession of certain types of weapons should be applied to Ukraine. It is absolutely clear that such restrictions should be applied to Russia. Ukraine’s right to join any alliances—NATO, the European Union, etc.—cannot be restricted.
This aggression should serve as an example for the civilized world to understand the danger Russia poses in its current form. Sanctions should not be lifted until the regime in Russia changes. Moreover, they should be radically strengthened to destroy the economic base of Russian imperialism. Military aid to Ukraine should also be radically increased, since the only possible way to end this war justly is for Ukraine to defeat the aggressor.
