The Citizens’ Committee of Ukraine expresses its deep satisfaction with the activities of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his steadfastness in organizing Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression, as well as his firm opposition to the current US administration’s shameful attempts to impose a capitulation plan on Ukraine.
The Citizens’ Committee of Ukraine expresses concern over the recent destabilizing and subversive nature of the NABU’s activities. NABU’s attacks on senior leadership undermine Ukraine’s authority on the international stage and political unity within the country, which could have an extremely negative impact on Ukraine’s defense capability, especially at this critical moment in our history, when attempts are being made to force Ukraine to capitulate to Russia.
The Citizens’ Committee of Ukraine believes that the supreme goal of Ukrainian state bodies at this time is the successful repulsion of Russian aggression and the preservation of Ukraine’s freedom, sovereignty, and independence. All other goals are permissible only to the extent that they do not interfere with this goal.
In this regard, the Citizens’ Committee of Ukraine expresses doubt about the advisability of the existence in Ukraine during a war of government bodies not accountable to the President of Ukraine, who is solely responsible for organizing Ukraine’s defense.
The Citizens’ Committee of Ukraine reminds the President that, according to the Constitution, decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine are binding on all government bodies of Ukraine, including the NABU. The Citizens’ Committee of Ukraine calls on the President, if necessary, to use this mechanism to neutralize the activities of hostile forces in Ukraine that undermine our state’s defense capability.
